Transitioning your Skincare Routine

Happy Fall ya’ll!

Now that the season is changing, its time to swap out our tanks for cozy sweaters, and our summer skincare routine for a fall one! There are important modifications needed to our skincare routine to ensure we transition well into the fall season.

Tip 1: Switch out your face cleanser. In the summer months, humidity and heat cause us to need a purifying cleanser. One with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide that helps to deter breakouts. However, now that there’s less moisture in the air and the air is cooler, a cream cleanser will be more beneficial in keeping our skin clean without stripping it of its natural oils.

Tip 2: Swap out your light weight moisturizer for one a little more hydrating. Again, summer months we want our clothes and skincare to be as light as possible. Now that temperatures are dropping a bit, it may be time for a moisturizer that is a little more heavy duty, to maintain moisture for our skin.

Tip 3: CONTINUE to apply sunscreen! Yes, you heard right. The sun shines down on the earth 365 days a year, which means that’s how often you should be wearing sunscreen. Even though it is less strong and the sun is out for less amount of time, its still important to apply SPF every day.

Tip 4: Consider adding a hyaluronic acid serum to your regimen. Hyaluronic acid holds 1000x its weight in water. Now that we will be getting less moisture from the air, adding an HA serum before applying moisturizer will add that extra needed hydration.

Hope these tips help ease us into Fall. This season will be different than any other Autumn we’ve had. I wish you all a safe and smooth season ahead.
